Ministry of Education hands over 11 buses to National Service Scheme

Mr Lee Ocran, acting Minister of Education, on Thursday handed over 11 Yuton buses at a cost of 3.5 million Ghana Cedis to the Ghana National Service Scheme (NSS) in Accra.

He said the buses were to convey service persons under the agriculture and farming module to their farms.

Mr. Vincent Kuagbenu, Executive Director, National Service Secretariat who received the buses, said the scheme had deployed over 40,000 graduates to offer their services in the education sector.

He expressed gratitude to the Ministry and the government for the donation and said it was the first time the NSS had received the fleet of buses at a time.

The buses are to be distributed to the 10 regional offices of the NSS and the eleventh goes to the NSS headquarters in Accra.
