Rawlings and Kufuor salute Prez Mahama

Former President Jerry John Rawlings led high powered dignitaries to salute President John Dramani Mahama shortly after the coronation ceremony at the Independence Square in Accra on Monday.

The dignitaries included former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Former United Nations Secretary General Mr Kofi Annan and wife, and former First Lady Nana Konadu Ageyman Rawlings.

Former President Rawlings after paying compliments embraced President Mahama, an act which attracted loud cheers from the enthusiastic crowd. Mrs Rawlings also embraced the President Mahama.

Former President Kufuor majestically walked and shook hands with both Vice President Amissah-Arthur and President Mahama, and dramatically waved to the crowed.

Mr Annan after the handshake adopted the French head-to-head style of paying compliments.

Elated President Mahama and Vice President Amissah-Arthur continued to respond to cheers and compliments from various leaders who are in the country to attend the ceremony.
