Mr Dan Botwe, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, has praised the electorate for retaining him in Parliament, in the 2012 parliamentary polls.
Mr Botwe, who was speaking to the GNA, also commended the constituency party officials, his campaign team and agents for working hard to ensure his victory a.
He promised to continue with his plans to develop the area to improve the standards of living of the people.
Mr Botwe appealed to the people to unite and support him to find solutions to challenges confronting the area, and pledged to be MP for all of them.
He asked NPP supporters to remain calm whiles party national executives challenge the 2012 Election results announced by the Electoral Commission at the Supreme Court.
Mr Botwe stressed that he would lobby for construction of roads, provision of quality education, quality health care and interventions to improve the well-fare of the people.
He won the polls with 15,165 votes, as against 9,680 votes by Mr George Opare Addo of the NDC, Mr Asante Solomon Roger, PPP, 219 votes, Mr Kwabena Owusu-Darko, CPP 133 votes,
Mr Vitaarshie Yaw Isaac, Independent candidate, 11 votes, Ms Bernice Amoah Odoi, NDP, 17 votes.
The NPP has since 2000 won the seat.
Mr Botwe, former Secretary General of NPP, has now been appointed the Minority Chief Whip of the sixth Parliament yet to be inaugurated.
