I won’t be aggrieved if I am replaced – Avoka

Majority Leader Cletus Avoka says he won’t be aggrieved if he is not retained as Majority Leader for the next Parliament.

The national executive committee of the ruling NDC met on Wednesday to decide on which members to choose as a Speaker, First Deputy Speaker and Majority Leader for the next Parliament.

It’s unclear if Cletus Avoka will be maintained or his Deputy Rashid Pelpuo will be elevated.

But Mr Avoka in an interview with XYZ News said he will be content with whatever decision is taken by the Party and the Presidency.

“I don’t think that if I am retained or asked to leave that place to serve in another capacity of government I would be aggrieved…no I won’t be aggrieved,” Mr. Avoka said.

Meanwhile, Parliament resumes sitting today ahead of its dissolution on the midnight of Sunday to pave way for the inauguration of the new Parliament on Monday.
