Kamel’s death creates vacuum in Volta Region – Volta House of Chiefs

The Volta Region House of Chiefs Friday expressed shock at the passing on of the late Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister saying his death has created great vacuum in the Region.

A statement signed by Togbe Afede XIV, President of the House and copied to the GNA, said Mr Kamel’s hard work, modesty, calmness, respect for people and affable disposition had endeared him to the Chiefs and people of the Region.

It said one of the striking attributes of Mr Kamel was his “exceptional commitment to the cause of peace, unity and development of the Region,” and that his demise was a great loss to the Region.

The statement said Mr Kamel worked closely with traditional authorities and was very passionate about the Volta Region-Ningxia (China) sister-region relationship.

“He gladly collaborated with the leadership of the Volta Region House of Chiefs in hosting the various business delegations from Ningxia with the hope of attracting investments to the Region he loved so much,” it said.

The statement said Mr Kamel would be remembered for his tireless efforts at finding a peaceful solution to the recent disturbances at Hohoe, the establishment of the University of Health and Allied Science (UHAS) and the commencement of work on the Eastern Corridor Road.

The House expressed its sympathy to his wife, children, family and constituents.
