A family friend of the late Volta Regional Minister has told XYZ NEWS the wife of Mr. Henry Ford Kamel has not granted any interview to the media about the death of her husband.
Today’s Daily Graphic quotes the widow, Helen Kamel, as saying her husband collapsed while talking on the phone with his deputy on the morning of Christmas day and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Jasikan hospital.
But Afua Djansi Asamoah told XYZ NEWS the late Volta Regional minister’s wife “has not spoken to any journalist.”
She said: “We want to put it on record that the reporter never spoke to the widow and the Regional Minister was not on phone when the [incident] happened.”
According to Ms Asamoah, Mrs. Helen Kamel was in the kitchen when the incident occurred while the late Kamel was interacting with party supporters.
“We are just giving the reporter two days to retract the story and apologise to the widow. This is not a good time for her to be dragged into this,” she warned.
