105 Robbery Suspects Arrested

A COMBINED team of Police, Navy and Military led by Lt. Col. Agyekum Yamoah, commanding officer of the First Battalion, arrested 105 suspected armed robbers and other criminals in a swoop last week Thursday morning at the Fishing Harbour, Tema.

Briefing newsmen, the Regional Commander, Mrs. Agnes O. Sikanatey, stated that the suspects were arrested in their dens at the boatyard at the fishing harbour.

According to her, some of the suspects jumped into the sea in a bid to escape, but were rounded up by the Navy and brought ashore.

She stated that the suspects would be paraded to enable the public identify them.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Sikanartey revealed that the dens of the suspects had all been destroyed.

Armed robbers have been terrorizing residents of the municipality of late and the arrest of the suspects has been warmly welcomed by the public
