NRSC committed to ensure accident free Xmas

The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) has expressed its willingness to intensify its outreach activities to ensure accident free Christmas and New Year celebrations.

To this, end the Commission has called on all its regional offices to liaise with stakeholders to increase road safety education focusing on the use of crash helmets, passengers and pedestrian safety.

It would also deploy the enforcement task force to police incidence of speeding, drink driving and driver fatigue.

This was contained in a statement issued to Ghana News Agency on Wednesday in Accra.

Mr Noble John Appiah Executive Director of NRSC said the Commission would embark on monitoring activities this week to ascertain the compliance of transport operators with published operational guidelines.

He said this would enable the Commission to share with the public operators safe for patronage.

He called on all to support these efforts in order to end the year safely for the collective good of the country.
