Information ministers urges professionalism among ISD Staff

The staffs of the Information Services Department (ISD) have been advised to place professionalism above politics in discharging their mandate of information gathering and dissemination.

Mr. Fritz Baffour, Minister of Information, who was interacting with the Ashanti Region ISD staff as part of a working tour of the region on Tuesday reminded them that they were working for Ghana and not for any political party.

“If you are endowed as a professional, do your work professionally and don’t try to steal information in favour of any party”, he added.

The information Minister indicated that even though every staff had a political leaning, that must not reflect in their work.

“This way absolute neutrality will be upheld and no one will fault you”, he stressed. Commenting on the challenges they faced in their work, he pledged to lobby government to retool and resource the Department adequately to enable them to deliver to the optimum.

Mr. Baffour urged the staff to continue to work hard in spite of their challenges to impress society about their relevance.
