Two NPP MPs in Agona West and East suffer defeat

Two New Patriotic Party Candidates who held their positions for more than two consecutive terms in Parliament have lost their seats to the National Democratic Congress in Friday’s elections.

They are Mr Samuel Kweku Obodai, MP for Agona West, who lost to Mr Charles Obeng-Inkoom, the NDC Candidate while Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng MP for Agona East surrendered his position to Mrs Pokuah Sawyer.

Mrs Pokuah Sawyer obtained 22,689 votes to beat Mr Agyabeng who was seeking a third re-election whiles Mr Obeng-Inkoom who had 29709 to defeat Mr Obodai who was seeking his fourth term with 25,194 votes.

Mr Anobil Forson and Mr Kwame Amoah, Agona East and West Electoral Officers respectively announced the certified results at separate gatherings at Agona Swedru and Agona Nsaba.
