Church presents gifts in support of orphanage

The All Nation’s Charity Home, an orphanage at Ayigya in Kumasi, has received items and cash of GH¢500.00 for the upkeep of inmates of the facility.

The items that include rice, edible oil, tooth paste and tooth brushes, toiletries, washing powder, footwear, second hand clothing, fruit drinks and toffees, cost GH¢1,500.00 . The “Twi-Six”, Sunday School Class of the Grace Baptist Church, Amakom donated the items and cash, and Deacon Eric Frimpong, its leader, said it was the group’s contribution towards efforts at helping to improve the living condition of the inmates. He said as a group of Christians they consider the gesture as a responsibility to help care for the poor, needy and the under privileged.

The Reverend Philip Kwasi Nyamekye, founder of the Home, appealed for more support for the facility that takes care of 45 orphans, and said some of them attend Senior High School and paying their school fees, had become a major headache.
