Seven months baby burns to death at Half Assini

A fire outbreak at a fishing community at Half Assini on Friday burnt a seven-month-old baby boy to death and destroyed personnel property.

Mr Emmanuel Kpoha, father of the deceased Kingsley, told the GNA that there was block-out at the community and when the power came back his house built with local materials burst into flames.

He said during the incident he and the wife were not around while the baby was sleeping in the room with his two sisters, Monica, 9, and Beanies Kpoha, 3.

According to Mr Kpoha, Monica and Beanies got out of the room but left the baby.

He said the fire entered a nearby house also built with the same materials and destroyed personal properties but there was no casualty.

Mr Kpoha said the fire victims are staying with friends and relatives at the community while the body of the baby has been deposited at the mortuary of the half Assini Government Hospital.
