NDC National Executives to visit Manhyia over violence

A high powered delegation of the National Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in Kumasi to access the political situation in Ashanti Newtown, in the wake of reported political violence in the area.

A statement issued in Accra by Mr James Asante, Director of Communications of the party, said the delegation led by Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary is expected to meet the Manhyia Constituency and Ashanti Regional Executives of the NDC to update them on events that led to the shooting of an NDC supporter a couple of days ago.

The delegation is expected to visit the victim and give the party’s commitment to facilitate the needed healthcare.

Other members of the delegation are Naval Captain Kojo Buta (Rtd), Chairman of NDC Finance Committee and Madam Anita de Sooso, National Women Organiser.

The statement said some NDC supporters are nursing various degrees of injuries, which is currently under police investigation.
