Baroness Amos Visits Today

Baroness Amos, Minister for Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and the Prime Minister’s Personal Representative on Africa for the G8, will be visiting Accra from today, 24 to Friday, 26 April.

This is Baroness Amos’ second visit to Ghana. She previously visited in January 2001 to attend the inauguration of President Kufuor.

A release from the British High Commission in Accra said Baroness Amos is very much looking forward to meeting President Kufuor again, in addition to members of the Government, Parliamentarians, members of civil society organisations, and representatives from the Ghanaian and British business communities.

The visit will focus on the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), bilateral relations, and will build on the discussions held during the visit of the Prime Minister in February.
