4 die from Cholera outbreak in Ashanti Region

Four students of the Adwuraman Senior High School in the Ashanti Region have died as a result of the Cholera outbreak in the area.

The first case of the disease was recorded on October 25. Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice, reported that the Municipal Health Director for the Adwura Municipality, Mr. Jacob Amoah fears the situation could be getting out of hands after the outbreak on October 25.

So far, 144 people in the Municipality have been infected by the disease.

Mr. Jacob Amoah says his outfit has therefore established an Epidemics Response Team made up of opinion leaders to educate the people on the hazards of the disease.

He is also urging the residents to take extra care when handling food items.
