Confirmed: Aliu Mahama to be buried in Tamale Today

The former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama will be buried in his hometown Yendi in the Northern region on Sunday 18 November 2012.

The family finally decided to bury the former Vice President in Tamale after a family delegation met President John Mahama to finally decide on the resting place of the former Vice President.

Alhaji Aliu Mahama died on Friday at the Korle Bu teaching Hospital after being put on life support for over ten days.

He was expected to be buried at the Asomdwee Park where late President Mills was buried in August. The family earlier on also hinted the possibility of the former Vice President being buried at the Military Hospital in Osu.

But latest information received from the family indicates that the family has finally decided that the remains of former Vice President be sent to Yendi in the Northern region for burial.
