PNC running-mate should have been flagbearer – Sekou

Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, son of Ghana’s first president, says the running mate to the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Helen Sanorita Dzatugbe Matervi should have been flagbearer instead of Hassan Ayariga.

According to him, the demeanour and the precise manner that Mrs. Matervi answered questions at the recent vice presidential debate makes her a better candidate.

Speaking to XYZ NEWS in an interview, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah said “apparently what came out is that the runningmate should have been the presidential candidate, because if you compare Hassan Ayariga with his running mate, I think she is miles ahead of him.”

He said he wonders why the PNC decided to vote for Mr. Ayariga, adding that his candidature will further hurt the fortunes of the PNC.

According to him, the PNC and the CPP do not stand any chance in the upcoming election and it is time the parties’ leadership came to this realisation.
