Mahama will win by 72% – Allotey Jacobs

Mr. Allotey Jacobs, Central Regional Director of Communications for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has predicted a 72% win for President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, he said: “I know for sure that when it comes to the presidency, the president will win 72 per cent of the votes”.

Mr. Allotey Jacobs has been accused by a sect in the Central Region of supporting an independent candidate, Dr. Ato Quarshie against the NDC Parliamentary aspirant, Mr. Joseph S. Annan.

Mr. Ato Quarshie, lost to Mr. Annan in the NDC primaries and decided to contest as an independent candidate because he was allegedly not happy with the results.

However, he has denied those claims, saying he is an NDC member and does not favour or support any individual in the region.

Explaining his side of the story, he said he only advised the electorate in the Central Region to choose for themselves which of the candidates contesting for the parliamentary seat is best for them.

“…I am not supporting anybody. What I said was just to advise the electorate in the region to choose the one whom they will vote for as far as the Member of Parliament is concerned because the situation in the Central Region is very dicey…

What is important for me is the presidential slot; John Mahama will win 72% of the votes, take it from me but as for the parliamentary it is only between Ato Quarshie and J. F. Annan, whoever, will win is fine…” he added.
