IEA Debate: Power cut in Ashanti frustrates residents

Many residents of the Ashanti Region were unable to watch or listen to the presidential debate as a result of an extensive blackout in some parts of the region.

Some attributed the blackout to a problem from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO).

But speaking to XYZ News, the Ashanti Regional PRO of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Erusmus Kyere Baidoo, said the problem with GRIDCO has been rectified.

XYZ News’ Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Isaac Justice Bediako, said the affected residents have expressed anger at the situation but Mr. Kyere Baidoo said GRIDCO is hopeful the situation will not recur.
