Aid to deputy minister denies slap allegation

A special assistant to Deputy Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, William Ollabode has described as false, news circulating that the Deputy Minister, Mustapha Ahmed, exchanged slaps with an NPP activist during a keep-fit exercise over the weekend.

Speaking to Bismark Brown on e-tv Ghana’s Breakfast TV Monday morning, the aide to the deputy minster denied the allegation and rubbished the publication in the Daily Guide newspaper.

He said, “There is no iota of truth in the publication of the Daily Guide. Actually, anybody who knows Dr. Mustapha Ahmed knows he is not somebody who even speaks.”

“He is someone who is very much respected in the community and for that matter for Daily Guide to bring this fabrication, in fact majority of us in the community are surprised,” he continued.

According to William Ollabode, he was with the deputy minister during the time of the incident.

“Dr. Mustapha was nowhere. I was personally with him as his Personal Assistant. For that matter, I want to put it before you that Dr. Mustapha was not slapped and Dr. Mustapha did not slap anyone. It is not true.”

He however admitted that, there were verbal exchanges between the two parties, but there were no exchange of slaps.

“Dr. Mustapha was not slapped and Dr. Mustapha did not slap anyone, it is not true, nothing of that sort happened” he said.

The deputy minister of environment, science and technology and also MP for Ayawaso East Constituency has been accused of exchanging slaps with an NPP activist during normal keep fit exercise on Sunday, October 22.
