The Winneba Sister Cities Commission presents cash donation to orphans

The Winneba Sister Cities Commission has presented GHC949.43 to a grandmother of two orphans as seed fund to enable her cater for them. The orphans Emmanuel Tettey, 10, and Samuel Tettey, 7, years, are primaries 4 and 2 school pupils in Winneba.

Very Rev. Elder Bonney, Presiding Member (PM) of Effutu Municipal Assembly and Mrs. Ernestina Yawson, Chief Executive Officer of the Commission made the presentation at the conference hall of the assembly in Winneba.

Very Rev. Bonney said the donation was made by Helen’s Project International Inc. Of Charlottesville in USA as a result of interaction with the grandmother of the children by a delegation from the project who visited Winneba a year ago following a memorandum signed between Charlottesville and Effutu state.

The objective of the memorandum was for the two cities to exchange programmes including, trade and tourism, youth and education as well as economic activities.

Madam Sophia Entsiwa, grandmother of the children, thanked the Commission, the Effutu Municipal Assembly and the donors for supporting her to take care of the children.
