Evangelist asks politicians to “walk the talk” about peace

Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, Founder and President of World Miracle Outreach on Monday asked politicians who preach peace on the political platform to “walk the talk”.

He said it is wrong for people to talk about peace and do things inimical to the stability of the nation.

Dr. Tetteh who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency ahead of the “Ghana for Christ Crusade” his ministry is organising in Ho, in the Volta Region, noted that peace comes from God hence the need for Ghanaians to allow godly aspirations to guide their actions during and after the elections.

The crusade is a series of evangelistic programme of prayer, intercession, healing and deliverance ministration, which began some 25 years ago in the country.

Dr. Tetteh appealed to all Ghanaians not to heighten the tensions associated with election years by through unguarded utterances and actions.

“In this respect, the role of the media as the Fourth Estate of the realm is very crucial. The media should desist from inflammatory publications and statements that create the impression that Ghana is at war.”

He observed that Ghana is an oasis of peace in a turbulent West African sub-region and this track record must be safeguarded.

Dr. Tetteh lauded the media for providing valuable information on economic, social and political issues to assist the public to make informed decisions and thereby contributing to the development and sustainability of democracy in the country.
