Rawlings is unlikely to attend NDC campaign launch – Adams

The spokesperson of former President Rawlings says he is not certian if his boss will attend the NDC’s campaign launch on Thursday.

Mr. Simon Amegashie-Viglo, Volta regional Secretary of the NDC told journalists on Tuesday that former President Rawlings and some NDC gurus are expected to be at the launch in the Volta region.

But speaking to XYZ News in an interview, Kofi Adams stated that the office of the former President received the invitation for the event on Wednesday morning which is likely to make it impossible for the former President to attend.

The suspended General Secretary of the NDC said the former President has other engagements which would make it difficult for him to attend.

He however stated that the former President would consider the invitation when he is officially informed that his services are required at the party’s event.

He however took a swipe at executives of the NDC saying they always fail to accord the founder of the party the needed respect and invite him early during major party events.

Kofi Adams also stated that he doubts if the former First Lady will make it to the launch since he has no information on whether the Mrs. Rawlings has been invited for the programme.
