MOURNING

At the weekend, members of the Apostle Church of Ghana in the Accra-Tema Metropolis, were clad in mourning clothes in honour of the late apostle.

A ‘Times’ interview with some members of the church indicated that the late Apostle Boadi, who left behind 24 children, was a staunch member of the church.

They said the church’s proposal to bury him in the premises of the Mpoase assembly was to honour him.

It is recalled that when the resident pastor was challenged to produce documents authorizing the church to bury the deceased at the premises, he could not do so.

DR Dela Attipoe, Director of the Metropolitan Public Health Department, denied any knowledge of the proposed burial when contacted.

“We have not issued any certificate for the burial and I will make sure we prevent them from proceeding with it,” he told a ‘Times’ team.

For his part, the chief of Mpoase, Nii Abossey Dzata, said he had no knowledge of the proposed burial, adding that nobody could bury anywhere in the area without his permission.

In an interview, some residents of the area deplored the intention of the church to bury the late Apostle there and warned that anybody who sacrificed the health of the people in the area for any social gains would not be spared.
