Cannabis Bust: BNI arrests 5 NACOB officials

Information reaching RadioXYZonline.com indicates that five officials of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) have been picked up by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in connection with the latest seizure of cannabis in the UK.

The cannabis was uncovered in a plane from Ghana at the Heathrow Airport by UK officials on Thursday.

Kamaldeen Awudu, Wolanyo Fiano ,Ibrahim Badoo and Marvin Amon-kotei, who were employed barely six weeks ago are among the Five NACOB officials arrested.

The fifth person Ben Kusi Asante has been working with NACOB for some years now.

The seizure, according to border officers at UK’s Heathrow Airport is the biggest cannabis seizure in three years.

The drugs, which weighed around 1.5 tonnes and had a street value of £4.3 million, were found in three separate freight containers filled with fresh fruit and vegetables.

The arrested NACOB staff were stationed at the Aviance Cargo where the said containers were supposedly checked before being sent to the KIA and subsequently enplaned to the UK .
