Lee Ocran directs aggrieved Presec teachers to start teaching

Striking teachers at Osu Presec are expected to resume teaching today after Education Minister Lee Ocran appealed to them to return to the classroom.

The teachers have been on a sit-down strike for weeks protesting what they call the tyrannical leadership-style of the headmistress.

Their strike forced the student body to embark on a demonstration ON Wednesday to demand their right to be taught.

The Minister visited the school and promised the agitated students of his outfit’s resolve to solve the impasse.

The issue is between the teachers and the headmistress so I have directed that the teachers continue teaching you.

“As for the issue between them and the headmistress by next week I would have resolved it” Mr. Ocran told the students.

He added that “I would take a report on Monday and the Headmistress is to see me on Tuesday and by Friday everything would have been resolved”.
