Mahama Addresses UN General Assembly Today

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama will this afternoon at 3:30 pm (11:30am US local time) address the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, United States.
The address which is expected to be broadcast live on Ghana Television (GTv) and some private and affiliate stations see the president tout Ghana’s success story in democratic governance, rule of law, human rights and the opportunities offered to the business world through the country’s discovery of oil, he will also touch on the impending December 7 general elections in Ghana and the preparations and readiness to ensure a free, transparent and fair elections.
He will likely espouse the potentialities in the country’s bright eco-tourism and the good business climate environment that exist for all to take advantage and invest in.
President Mahama will also likely touch on measures being adopted, some of them through constitutional instruments to strengthen the rule of law in the Ghana, a snapshot of which he gave in his address before the United Nations General assembly High-Level Meeting on the rule of law on Monday in New York. At the said address, President stressed on the improvement on the Ghana’s per capita income which now stands at $1400 to the building of the capacities and measures to strengthen the judicial system. He also spoke about the transparent management of the country’s oil revenues.
