No ‘one-touch’ win in 2012 election – Nduom declares

The flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has predicted a run-off in the impending general election in December.

He said the PPP was going to wage a relentless campaign, devoid of acrimony and insults, to deny all the political parties a straight win.

“We are embarking on a serious campaign all over the country so that no political party is going to be strong enough to win this election in the first round”, Dr. Nduom asserted.

In his estimation, the PPP would hold the balance of power in Parliament, stressing that the dominance of the NDC and the NPP in parliament would be halted.

The founder of the PPP said this on an Accra-based radio station in Accra on Thursday.

“Time has been invested and resources are firmly on the ground competing with the [so called big parties]”, he added, revealing the PPP would take part in the second round of the election.

“There is not going to be any one-touch victory for anybody. As a result of that we are taking our shots, we are taking our territory and we are deciding where we are putting our time in”, Dr. Nduom added.

He urged Ghanaians to offer the PPP the chance to govern the nation in December.
