Nana Konadu would be our flagbearer soon – NDP

The National Democratic Party says it is convinced that former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will soon accept the party’s proposal to be its Flagbearer for the December Polls.

The first lady has been tipped as the favorite among two other likely candidates but she is yet to pick up her nomination form with just four days to the close of nominations.

However, Former President Rawlings’s recent endorsement of President Mahama raises doubts about whether the former first lady will jump aboard the NDP train.

Interim General-Secretary, Dr. Joseph Mamboa-Rockson, however says the party strongly believes Mrs. Rawlings will join the NDP soon.

“The NDP is still focused on getting our Parliamentary candidates ready and getting our Presidential candidate ready for the December polls.

“Hopefully we will get the former First Lady to come out by next week and we would parade her on the 29 of this month” Mr. Mamboah-Rockson said.
