Wedding Baby Dies

DAILY GUIDE has gathered that an infant, who was prematurely delivered after a controversial wedding at Changli, a suburb of Tamale has died at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The infant was placed in an incubator at the health facility after delivery.

It is unclear the cause of the death of the baby but sources revealed it suffered complications.

It would be recalled that the Islamic wedding of 34-year-old mason, Ziblim Nashiru and his bribe, Shafau Mohammed ended under bizarre circumstances.

Nashiru, who wedded Shafau Mohammed, a community health assistant under the National Youth Employment Programme, was astounded when her bride gave birth in less than 24 hours after the marriage ceremony.

Residents of Changli, where the Islamic ceremony, took place are yet to come to terms with the news.

Ziblim Nashiru, who lives in Zambarama House, denied responsibility for the pregnancy and instructed his kinsmen to compel the woman to vacate her new matrimonial home.

Checks by the paper revealed the woman left her matrimonial home after family members of the husband blamed her for the scandal.

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE revealed that the two decided to marry after courting for over a year.

It was rumored in the community that the said lady was pregnant, which prompted the man to confront his bribe.

The bride vehemently denied the allegations and accused the relations of the man of trying to sabotage her marriage.

Sisters of the man reportedly called on the man to take the wife to the hospital for thorough investigations, but the man ignored them.

According to guests at the wedding ceremony, the bride and his groom smiled profusely after the recitation of the Quran and prayers.

Later in the evening, the woman complained of severe abdominal pains.
