Fireworks @ NUGS: Peter Kodjie Steals GHC20, 000 From NUGS Fidelity Account

Reports reaching leadership of the various SRC’s points to the fact that there is brewing tension among the National Executives of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) over GHC20, 000 which was allegedly withdrawn in the Union’s Fidelity account by Mr. Peter Kwasi Kodjie, a student of IPS and Osman Ayariga, the President of the Union without the knowledge of the other executives.

In a statement signed by the University of Ghana SRC President, Edmond Kombat, it was stated that though the Union has conducted its elections at GNAT Hall, some executives have vowed to ensure that the Union does not conduct its handing over peacefully since there are financial impropriety issues to be solved.

“Mr. Peter Kwasi Kodjie and Mr. Osman Ayariga withdrew the monies and have thwarted attempts by the other executives to account. The General Secretary of NUGS, Mr. Tafhim Gbonta, has vowed together with the Press and Information Secretary Mr. Austin Brako-Powers, to expose the two gentlemen mentioned above.’

Edmond Kombat, however, called on all SRC’s to demand accountability without which the handing over should be stopped.
