“2012 elections should be made peaceful” – Danso

Management of the Glory of God Retreat Centre at Adako-Jachie in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality, have called on political leaders to set good examples as they embark on their campaigns.

It is the duty of the leaders to engage in healthy political discourse, devoid of inflammatory speeches, antagonism, violence and tension.

Mr. Isaac Danso, the Managing Director, said the actions and inactions of the leaders were critical to the success of the polls adding that it behooves them to “work assiduously in their respective capacities to making 2012 elections peaceful”.

He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines at the inauguration of the Centre at Adako-Jachie.

The Managing Director recounted how disagreements, ideological differences and intolerance had bred hatred and bloodshed in some African countries.

Ghana, he said, ought to take cue from these instances and work hard to avoid such mistakes to sustain political stability and unity in the country.

Mr. Danso said the Centre would be dedicating some days to pray and fast for an incident-free polls.
