Gov’t must tackle high level of unemployment – Kufuor

The former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor has admonished government to focus on the private sector to reduce the high level of unemployment in the country.

Ex President Kufuor in an exclusive interview with XYZ News stated that the formation of the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana is evidence of the seriousness of the problem that has bedeviled the nation.

According to him, government must create the enabling business environment for the private sector to enable them thrive and aid in addressing the unemployment situation in the country.

“Those with the ability to risk and venture into the private sector must be encouraged by the state legitimately” Former President Kufuor said.

“Now we all talk of unemployment…it is because the private is not being encouraged to grow. So before you pick a President, you must look at the person who would inspire you with policies.

“If you are not convinced he has got the team and you drop your vote for him, you will get disappointed” the ex President added.
