Striking KATH consultants to withdraw emergency services

Consultants at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital insist they will withdraw all emergency service by Wednesday if the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission fails to address the outstanding issue regarding their migration unto the Single Spine Salary Structure.

The consultants declared an indefinite strike last week but still continue to offer emergency services to patients who patronize the hospital.

Speaking to XYZ News, spokesperson for the consultants Robert Inkoom said they have no choice but to intensify their strike to press home their demands.

“If after Wednesday they have not had any discussions with us we will intensify the strike” Mr. Inkoom told XYZ News in an interview.

Mr. Inkoom added that “we are on strike but we have put up some contingency measures to take care of emergency cases so by intensifying it we are going to withdraw emergency services”.
