Clerk swindles colleague of GH¢18,040.00

A purchasing clerk (PC) of the Akuafo Adamfo Company Limited, who allegedly swindled a colleague of GH¢18,040.00 under the pretext of supplying him with 68 bags of cocoa, has appeared before the Nkawie circuit court.

Edward Osei is charged with defrauding by false pretence and pleaded not guilty.

He was granted bail in the sum of GH¢20,000.00 to re-appear on Friday, September 14th.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the court presided over by Justice Frank Owusu Afriyie that both the accused and the complainant, Chris Oheneba Sarpong, are PCs of the Akuafo Adamfo Company but operate in different communities.

Sarpong is at Nyinahin while Osei is stationed at Kansakrom, all in the Atwima-Mponua.

He said the accused took the money about two years ago and went into hiding until August 11, this year, when he was arrested following a tipoff.
