Second Divison League Match Ends In Confusion

Sunyani, Aug 4, — The Brong-Ahafo regional second division football league match between Sunyani Aston Villas and visiting Bechem United ended abruptly midway in the second half at the Sunyani Coronation park on Sunday. Before the incident, Aston Villas were leading 1-0 from a goal scored by centre forward Abu Mensah in the first half. It all happened when the visitors rushed on referee Obeng Mensah of Wenchi and assualted him after awarding a penalty against them in the 58th minute. Referee Mensah was saved and protected out of the field by Aston Villas supporters as there were no security personnel on duty.
