Motor rider dies following accident at Atwebanso

Mr. Habidu Osumanlu, a 20-year-old motor rider from Jewi Wharf, near Half Assini in the Western Region, died after his motorbike crushed with a hyundai vehicle at Atwebanso.

Mr. Osumanlu passed away on arrival at the Half Assini Government Hospital and his pillion rider whose name was not known, was in comma at the same facility.

The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police (Supt) John Fugerson Dzineku, confirmed the story to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini on Friday.

He said the body of Osumanlu had been released to the family for burial after autopsy at the Axim Government Hospital while police investigation continued.

Supt. Dzineku expressed worry that this is the third time a motor rider had been killed in an accident within five months.

He advised motor riders to wear hamlets to protect their heads in case of accident.
