President Mahama to visit Tarkwa on Saturday

President John Dramani Mahama will visit Tarkwa on Saturday August 18, 2012 to thank the people of the Western Region for their support since he ascended the high office of the land.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa Nsueam, Mrs. Christiana Cobinah told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Friday that the President would also use his visit to express gratitude to all Ghanaians for their support during the funeral of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.

She said President Mahama would visit the birthplace of the late President at Nzemaline, a suburb of Tarkwa, where the road leading to the house is currently under rehabilitation.

The MCE said he would also inspect the progress of work at the new Municipal Hospital at Bogrekrom.

Mrs. Cobinah said there would be a grand durbar at the Tarkwa Nsueam Assembly Park, where chiefs in the region, as well as members of the ruling National Democratic Congress and other stakeholders are expected to grace the occasion.

She said all preparations are set to receive the President.
