Chiefs salute Muslims as they end the holy month of Ramadan

The National House of Chiefs (NHC) has appealed to Muslims to use the Eid-Ul-Fitr as an earnest opportunity to strengthen their faith in Allah and commitment towards peace.

They should proclaim the significance of the festival as Allah’s love to mankind and this should permeate all their activities to bring peace and joy to society.

This was contained in a congratulatory message signed by Wulugu Naba Pugansoa, Naa Professor John S. Nabila, President of the House, and issued in Kumasi to mark the end of the month long fasting by the Muslim community.

The Eid-Ul-Fitr festival would be held this weekend.

The statement appealed to people to accept to work together to make the December elections peaceful.

“Much is expected of us as Ghanaians to control our temper in the least provocation so as to remain steadfast in the national interest. Let us bear in mind that we are all Ghanaians living in Ghana,” the statement said.

It advised those out there not to foment trouble, anxiety, chaos and social unrest before, during and after the elections to have a re-think.

The statement said it was the prayer of the chiefs that the celebration of the Eid-Ul-Fitr and this year’s Hajj to Mecca would pass off peacefully and successfully.
