One dead, five seriously injured in Bolga bus attack

One person is reported dead and five others seriously injured in an armed robbery attack in the Northern region on Tuesday.

The armed men attacked the Neoplan bus traveling from Kumasi to Bolgatanga.

The injured passengers are receiving treatment at a hospital in Bolga.

The driver Robert Ateyine narrating his ordeal to XYZ News said the robbers ambushed them and started shooting indiscriminately when their bus got to a village called Pigor.

“We were coming from Kumasi and when we got to a village called Pigor, I heard a gunshot through my side mirror. I heard another gunshot, about 11 shots followed but I didn’t stop.

“Five people were injured and one was dead. The guy was sleeping so the bullet went right through his head” Robert Ateyine narrated.

Meanwhile, Police in the area say they are yet to begin their investigations into the matter.
