The Burma Hall, Nicholson Stadium and other facilities of the Ghana Armed Forces are also going to receive massive facelifts according to the Defence Minister. The Chinese as a result of the goodwill being currently enjoyed by the country he said have agreed to support the upgrading of the Burma Hall to a capacity of 3500 seats at a cost of ?8.5b he said. Also to be constructed is a complex to be known as Burma Complex, which would contain various facilities like a shopping centre, a banking hall and others.

The minister who was with Ghana’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Mr. Kabral Blay Amihere, told the soldiers that although Ghana had only one envoy it had many goodwill ambassadors whose duty it is to create a good image about Ghana. He therefore charged soldiers serving in that country to do all that they can to be good ambassadors.

The Armed Forces, he said, is one of the most important state institutions which should be devoid of politics so that whoever takes over the political administration of the country does not encounter problems.
