The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), Ghana, of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has congratulated Mr. John Dramani Mahama on his elevation to the high office of President of the Republic of Ghana.
A Press release issued on Thursday in Accra and signed by Mr. Charles Awinongya, acting General Secretary of ICU said, “The Union wishes to congratulate His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for ascending to the highest office of the land. We wish him and Ghanaians well”.
The ICU also commended parliament and the Chief Justice for the prompt manner in which they acted in accordance with the constitution to install Mr. Mahama, as President.
“This action has proven the strength of our 1992 constitution and made Ghana more visible. It has strengthened our democratic governance,” the Union added.**
