Akufo Addo promises antidote for collapsing economy

The presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Election 2012, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has said a government under the NPP would provide an antidote to the country’s collapsing economy.

He called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP to build a stronger economy and a prosperous nation since the party had people with proven ability.

Nana Akufo-Addo was speaking at separate rallies at Half Assini, Bonyere, Tikobo No.2 and Nawuley in the Jomoro District, as part of his tour of the Western Region.

He said an NPP government would industrialise the country’s economy to create more jobs for Ghanaians, especially the youth.

Nana Akufo-Addo assured cocoa farmers that a government under him would improve mass cocoa spraying programme, to increase production of the crop in the country.

He promised coconut farmers in the Nzema District that an NPP government would supply them with hybrid coconut seedlings at heavily subsidized prices. Nana Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his promise to make secondary education free, and to revive the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Mr. Joseph Ehonea, NPP parliamentary aspirant for Jomoro Constituency, said he would make the promotion of education his priority when voted into Parliament. He appealed to the electorate to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 7 polls.**
