Kumasi Circuit Court remands two alleged armed robbers

Two alleged robbers who shot their victim in the eyes, rendering him completely blind, have been ordered to be kept in prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court.

Fatau Musah and Baba Karim are facing charges of conspiracy, robbery and causing harm and pleaded not guilty.

They would re-appear on Wednesday, July 18.

Police Chief Inspector Archibald Kwesi Fandoh told the court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Amo-Yartey that the accused live in Kumasi, whilst the victim Abdul Basit, resides at Maamobi in Accra.

Basit had arrived in Kumasi to visit his family and was riding a motorbike at about 2200 hours on February 2, when the two attacked him at Aboabo.

They shot him through the eyes with a locally manufactured pistol and took away his Nokia cellular phone and cash of GH¢200.00.

A formal report was made to the police and investigations led to the of arrest Musah and Karim.**
