NDC and NPP Have Made Ghana a Kleptocracy -PPP

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has accused the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of turning Ghana into a Kleptocracy, following revelations that functionaries of the two parties are responsible for the country’s judgment debt scandals.

The PPP believes there is enough evidence to confirm that both NDC and NPP administrations have deliberately contributed to the creation of judgment debts and used their share of the proceeds to augment their campaign finances, to enable them to recycle themselves back into power any time they were rejected by the electorate at the polls.

PPP Parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, William Dowokpor, made the accusations over the weekend, reiterating his call on the electorate to reject the NDC and NPP at the December elections for their roles in the unfolding judgment debts scandal.

He described emerging details from the scandal, as a typical example of bad economic governance, characterized by a lack of transparency and integrity in the creation and management of contracts on behalf of the nation by party big wigs, government functionaries and their accomplices in the public and private sectors of the economy.

William Dowokpor said, “Elections 2012 presents to the Ghanaian electorate, the opportunity to choose between the Stewardship and incorruptible leadership the PPP is offering or the maintenance of Kleptocracy, which the NDC and NPP administrations have offered for the last two decades”.
