Amadu Sorogho denies making “unsavoury” comments against Ga-East chiefs

The Member of Parliament for Madina-Abokobi, Mr. Amadu Sorogho, has strongly denied that he ever made unsavoury comments against chiefs in Ga-East on the choice of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly.

Speaking to the GNA in Accra, he said: “I never uttered those words that were attributed to me. The story has tarnished my reputation.”

The GNA had reported on July 5, 2012 that the Ga-East Chiefs Association had expressed displeasure over “unsavoury and misplaced comments” by the MP against the chiefs concerning the choice of a new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nii Samuel Oblejumah Sowah, a former employee of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS)

The MP is reported to have criticized the chiefs for openly supporting Nii Sowah, according to the Chairman of the Association, Nii Samuel Mohenu.

However, Mr. Sorogho, who is Chairman of the Fire Service Council, denied making the comments.**
