District Chief Executive Appeals To Traditional Council For Resolution Of Disputes

The District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman, Mr Emmanuel Dwamena Bekoe, has appealed to the Akwamu traditional council to help resolve chieftaincy disputes and cases o He said these disputes should be discouraged beca use they are hampering developmental efforts in the district. Mr Bekoe made the appeal when he addressed the chiefs and people of Apegusu, Nudu, Mpakadan and Kwayarko in the Akwamu traditional area at separate meetings as part of his familiarisation visit He regretted that some communities are disintegrat ing because of litigation and warned that much as the government would not want to interfere in chieftaincy disputes, it would not allow the pea Mr Bekoe called for tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the district an d cautioned them against taking the law into their own hands to settle disputes.
