Clan heads asked to form conflict resolution groups

Nana Adjoa Taiba II, queenmother of Gomoa-Adam in the Central Region has tasked heads of clans in Ghana to form conflict resolution groups.

She explained that it would help in dealing with minor land and other cases, which could escalate into major litigation and waste of funds, time and energy.

Nana Taiba made the suggestion when Mr. Justice Peter Ansah, Gomoa West Organiser of the Ghana Red Cross Society and opinion leader of Gomoa-Amanful, paid a courtesy call on her at Gomoa-Adom.

The meeting enabled Nana Taiba to discuss issues on the socio-economic, health and cultural development of the people of the two communities.

She observed that protracted land and other long-standing family cases usually started in a small way but were not properly handled by leaders of the affected clans and families.

Nana Taiba said the situation had drained some homes of huge chunk of money and disintegrated the people.

She called on clan leaders to initiate pragmatic and cost-saving measures to resolve community cases.

Mr. Ansah commended the queenmother for her contribution to the progress of the people.**
