EP Moderator calls on churches to intensify peace messages

Rev. Francis Amenu, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has appealed to the faith community to step up their campaign and messages on peace to ensure a successful and violence free election.

He appealed to the government and other agencies to work hard in maintaining the peaceful atmosphere in the country.

Rev. Amenu said this at a thanksgiving service on Sunday organized as part of activities marking the second synod meeting of the Central and Western Presbytery of the church at Takoradi.

He said the church was disturbed by recent happenings and appealed to Ghanaians to be extra careful in their dealings and utterances particularly in this election year to save the country from violence.

He said it was time for the country to channel its resources to areas that could bring progress and development and therefore called on all and sundry to stand for peace and progress.**
