NADMO embarks on public education on army worms in Yendi

The Yendi Municipal National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has commenced series of public education campaigns on how to combat army worm anthrax in the municipality.

The campaign being collaborated by the Municipal Assembly and Information Services Department, covered Sang, Nakpachie, Ngani and Bunbonayili zones.

At one of such campaigns at Ngani, Mr. Kofi Bigah, Municipal NADMO Co-ordinator said the move was necessary since army worms had invaded farms in neighbouring Upper East Region as well as anthrax infection amongst livestock and domestic animals.

He warned the public to desist from eating either sick or dead animals to prevent the infection.

The Municipal NADMO Operating Officer, Mr. Hussein Inusah, called on the people who live along the River Oti and River Dakar to desist from farming or settle along the banks in order not to be victims of floods.**
